This interactive 3D model of a college central plant needs JavaScript. It shows three 600-ton chillers, three cooling-tower cells and steam boilers serving nine buildings, from one chiller before dawn to all three at a 1,600-ton summer peak, and boilers making more than 20,000 pounds of steam an hour in January. It then shows what twelve common plant faults, such as low chilled-water delta-T, setpoints that never reset and a chiller left in hand, add to the bill.
