What does ERV-FC16 mean?
The recovery wheel or core is commanded on but the supply air isn't being pre-conditioned much by the exhaust stream.
Why does it matter?
A dead recovery section shifts its whole load onto the heating and cooling coils — often 20–40% of the unit's conditioning energy.
What should you do?
Check the wheel belt/motor and rotation, the bypass damper position, frost-control settings, and whether the wheel is fouled; verify the sensors are on the correct side of the wheel.
