What does HP-01 mean?

Electric resistance / auxiliary heat runs while it is warm enough for the compressor to carry the load.

Why does it matter?

Resistance heat costs about three times heat-pump heat; a missing lockout is one of the largest single wastes on a heat pump.

What should you do?

Set an outdoor lockout for auxiliary heat (typically 30–40 °F), check the balance point and the thermostat staging.
