What does AHU-X14 mean?
Outdoor air is cool enough to provide free cooling, but the AHU is at minimum OA and running mechanical cooling instead.
Why does it matter?
Every hour of free-cooling-foregone is pure waste — the building paid for chilled water it could have had for free. Especially impactful in mild climates and shoulder seasons.
What should you do?
Check the economizer enable point, OAT sensor accuracy (a too-high OAT reading locks out economizer), damper actuator binding, and whether the high-limit cutoff is set too aggressively.
